[OS X TeX] footbib

Thank you all for your replies.

I think I got it sorted how to bibtex  my document - that works fine.
However, when I latex my document again after I get an error message:


l.5 \providecommand
                   *{\natexlab}[1]{#1}
?

! Package footbib Error: Missing \bibitem on input line 5 of thesis.fb.bbl.


does anyone know why I get this message?

And I will be using latex->dvips->ps2pdf to compile my document because I am
using the psfrag to sort out numbers in my document.
