[OS X TeX] error message about DeclareInputText or DeclareInputMath

This looks like you have somehow managed to get an invisible
character  ^^A  into your LaTeX source.

Use an editor that can "Zap Invisibles" to get rid of it,
and any others.

Alternatively just use the arrow-keys to step character by character
through your source.  As you pass through  (27 g/kg)  the cursor will
not move as it crosses the  ^^A , so you can find it to delete it.

Simpler alternative:  delete  kg)  and then retype it!

This is saying that  ^^A  isn't defined as a valid input character.
You don't want it to be, since you cannot see it!
