[OS X TeX] Wrong latex getting used.

Having seen your response to Herb's attempt to try to ferret out some
relevant facts of your LaTeX usage, I don't think I will be able to
help you. I do have two brief suggestions, however....

Suggestion 1: Look for other dot files that are sourced by your
shell where the path may be getting changed. Edit as needed.
(Computers *always* "do what you tell them". You just need to check
more carefully everything you are telling it after installing LaTeX
through fink.)

Suggestion 2: Delete that directory. No part of your initial
message suggests any use or need for it, so you might as well save
the disk space and the headaches. You can always reinstall later if
needed, once you have diagnosed the first issue. In the meantime,
while you are hunting down the source of the mysterious path, you can
get actual work done.
