[OS X TeX] Wrong latex getting used.

Well, I certainly didn't mean to be offensive.  I was annoyed at my
*beautifully* crafted question [ :-) ] (***please note the smiley***.
For the uninitiated, this indicates that I am making a joke.) not having
been read properly and an answer given that was to the effect of  
teaching
one's grandmother to suck eggs.

On the other hand, the root cause of my problem was utter stupidity on
my part --- i.e. failing to notice the ``source /sw/bin/init.csh'' line
which *immediately* followed the line where I tried to set my path.
So I guess I should not be hasty in condemning others for failure to
read closely what is in front of their eyes.

That being said, I really didn't think I was all *that* offensive in
my initial reply to Prof. Schulz.  Abrupt maybe, but not offensive.
It was when others slangged off at me for being offensive that I got
annoyed and used the ``facile and patronizing'' phrase.  Which I
shouldn't have done, and I really *am* sorry for that.  I apologize.
