[OS X TeX] Problem with LaTeXit

You don't need to supply the \begin and \end of the {document} –  
LaTeXiT assumes (actually it knows) that these two lines belong to  
LaTeX document.

And you also don't need to supply $'s and \displaystyle – you make a  
choice from the bottom.


To debug a bit more you can look into the directory

	/var/tmp/folders.<your user id number, usually 501>/TemporaryItems/ 
latexit-<version number>

There you'll find LOG and other files from the LaTeX runs.
