and am still wondering what to add to the "List of feature requests  
on this list" thread. Everything? Nothing? Some kind of consensus wish?

It seems to me that the issue might be depending on the size of the  
screen one has: windows for a large screen and tabs for a small  
screen, and thus could be set in the preferences.
