Hello,
Not sure about TeXShop, but AlphaX is a good text editor with
a nice TeX mode, and allows you to specify what viewer to use
including TeXShop, Preview, Adobe Reader, or any other viewer
for dvi or pdf that you want. You can download AlphaX from
http://pagesperso-orange.fr/bdesgraupes/alphabinaries.html
where you find the latest version, AlphaX 8.2b14 as of today.
This version is very stable - as confirmed by the low traffic
on the responsive users mailing-list.
