[OS X TeX] compressing files az .zip

Don't use the Finder's "create archive" thing to start with. zip (the command line utility) works, but you might want to search someplace like MacUpdate looking for a GUI.

Also, turn on invisible files in the Finder (OnyX should do this for you) and delete those .DS_Store files in the folders you want to compress.
