[OS X TeX] updmap-sys won't do its thing

An alternative is to create a local configuration file for updmap-sys.
There are brief instructions at the top of
/usr/local/texlive/2009/texmf-config/web2c/updmap.cfg. There are
slightly more detailed instructions at
http://mactex-wiki.tug.org/wiki/index.php/Font_Installation#Installing_other_TeX-ready_fonts.
Scroll down to be sure you read the instructions for TeX Live 2009 and
not TeX Live 2008 as the correct procedure changed.
