[OS X TeX] Inserting a few words in "non-latin-character" languages

Things are getting more and more surprising: Now even LaTeX seems to  
be confused since the titles are not boldfaced anymore---nothing is  
anymore---, \emp does not italicize and the word Chapter at the  
beginning of the chapters ...  is in Cyrillc!!!!!!
