> The arXiv version contains many more font subsets than your home version. Take a look at the included fonts using Adobe Reader > Properties > Fonts. That may be enough to add the additional 280KB.
That explains a lot, Michael. Thanks! There were 15 fonts in the my "lucidabr" file and 31 in the arXiv file.
