[OS X TeX] embedding fonts

Hi

How do I know if my fonts are properly embedded? And is there any way that I can ensure that they are embedded properly?

When submitting to the IEEE, I have had difficulty getting past their pdf checker - but it worked ok for me too (and I don't know why it worked sometimes, and didn't at other times).

Recently the ACM complained about my fonts not being embedded too.

Any advice you can give would be appreciated
