I think think the headline of this article is over the top, but the point
made is interesting. The subject links to an earlier comment here about the
increased emphasis on IOS.

The first two paragraphs read
If you had any doubts about theoverwhelming importance of
iOS<http://gizmodo.com/5894643/apples-three-million-new-ipads-sold-show-that-the-future-is-here-to-stay>
and
the imminent death of OS
X<http://gizmodo.com/5888597/mountain-lion-review-what-happened-to-apples-innovation>
as
we know it—probably after Mountain Lion—take a look at the image above. Pay
close attention. Read the titles of the *entire* Apple leadership team.
See it yet?
There's no VP for OS X or Mac technologies.
Craig Federighi—who still is Apple's Senior vice president of "Software
Engineering"—is nowhere to be found on the *Apple Leadership*
page<http://www.apple.com/pr/bios/>.
Federighi replaced Bertrand Serlet—the father of OS X—after the latter left
Apple <http://gizmodo.com/5784786/the-father-of-mac-os-x-is-leaving-apple> back
in March 2011 as "VP for Mac Software Engineering."
