> Do you have an updmap-local.cfg in .../texmf-local/web2c alongside your updmap.cfg? If so, updmap-sys will ignore that particular updmap.cfg. If that is the problem, copy the contents of your updmap-local.cfg into updmap.cfg and delete updmap-local.cfg/\.
Well, almost... the way to tell updmap to disable a map differs in the two formats. For now (don't know about TL2013 and later) you can still use an updmap-local.cfg file and it will be understood. Having both is a problem.
