[OS X TeX] "Save as"

Even more strongly: In order to have the same "TeX installation" in my three machines, I have moved the *entire* original folders ~/Library/texmf and ~/Library/TeXShop to my DropBox folder, and I have put symbolic links of them in the original place, i.e., inside ~/Library. In this way every local customization I make to either the TeX installation (fonts, packages, bibtex styles, etc) or the TexShop one (mainly templates and macros) when working on any of the machines is copied to the other machines and I am reassured I will find everything in order. This corresponds to the option 2 below. I think option 1 does not work as desired, because DropBox replaces links to folders by their real contents (at least it used to do so when I first tried).
