I removed these as mentioned in <http://tug.org/mailman/private/mactex/2011-November/005955.html> and now things are working properly (at least over several re-boots, etc.). I actually rebuilt LaunchServices using Onyx (make sure you have the version for your OS) after editing the info.plist file and didn't try to simply move TeXShop.app out and then back into the /Applications folder; under Lion and Mountain Lion you can't simply drag it out to the Desktop since that automatically creates an alias---you must copy it and then Option-Paste it to the Desktop and then move it back.

Howdy,
Try to simply move TeXShop.app to your Desktop (you will have to Copy it to the Desktop and then delete it from the /Applications/TeX folder---simply dragging will produce an alias [dumb choice by Apple in my opinion]). The simply drag it back into /Applications/TeX. I think this is what
If that doesn't work I'd get Onyx (the version for your OS---see <http://www.titanium.free.fr/download.php?sid=12c1b7fc15c5825fdd2cddba5ac985a3>) and then rebuild the LaunchServices database under the Maintenance->Rebuild tab. I then rebooted my system just for luck and to see that the change would stick between re-boots.
That link basically contains what Gary duplicated. Sorry, I forgot that that list is meant for MacTeX developers and testers and isn't public.
Good Luck,
