[OS X TeX] Update failed

Today my TeX Live Utility is getting “The update failed” error message when I try to install all updates, with two different repositories — one in the U.S. and the other in Europe. So far as I know, nothing in my OS X Mavericks configuration has changed since a day or two ago, when I updated packages without error. 

I tried to reinstall the TeXLive Manager app, again from several different repositories, but that fails, too.
