Folks,

I updated BasicTeX on CTAN. This will make its way to the mirror servers in the
next day or two.

BasicTeX installs the "small scheme" in TeX Live. This update corresponds to an
update of the small scheme to fix two minor problems:

	a) The zapfding package is now part of the scheme, as required by
	hyperref when used with pdflatex

	b) BasicTeX contained babel, but didn't contain the separate language
packages for babel used in Western Europe. Now it does.

The update was made to ease support problems with users new to TeX.

Users of BasicTeX should obtain TeX Live Utility (a Google search will lead
to a link to the free download). TeX Live Utility sees the small scheme change
and automatically adds the missing files. It can also be used to add other
packages not part of BasicTeX if needed.

There are no plans to similarly update the full MacTeX, since that package
installs TeX Live Utility by default.
