How could I? Without internet communication is almost impossible. But since I'm member of German TUG (dante): yes, there were and still are a lot of folks here in rich Germoney who prefer to install from the DVD. This has some advantages, like a searchable medium, many, many documents at the tips of their fingers, family members being able to phone while one is installing, complete independence – don't US citizens defend this with ubiquitous guns in their hands?
