[OS X TeX] Where is the compiler for Snow Leopard 10.6.8 ?

That's the way to get XCode - it's on the discs that came with your computer.

For the most up-to-date version (3.2.6 I believe), go to https://developer.apple.com/downloads and download it (Apple account required). This will install the tools such as gcc that you need.
