[OS X TeX] A heretic thought

But there is a price to pay...
The book is typeset in Times, and it seems that the Times kerning tables
do not extend to lower case, upper case pairs.
So in LaTeX, you have to kern aT and eX manually.
Then you italicize it, and it is all wrong. So you have to kern aT and eX manually again for italics!
And then there is bold...
Are there specialized kern tables for Times?
