[OS X TeX] Book manuscript, \cite question

Unfortunately, neither works.  It produces the following:

Pingree   94, A.2.107–110, A.3.28, A.4.75–76, A.5.74–75

In other words, the year is still ’94,’ but now there’s extra space between ‘Pingree’ and ’94.'
