What I always do (in the really really final version) is just copy the contents of the .bbl file, which is an entire {thebibliography} environment, and paste it into your .tex document, *replacing* the commands \bibliographystyle{...} and \bibliography{...}. In this way you need not send the .bbl file, all the bilbiographic information is, suitably formatted, inside the .tex source file.
