Howdy,

I guess I wouldn't find Cmd-1, Cmd-F terrible to do; Cmd-1 switches to the Source window so that Cmd-F gives the usual Find dialog.

Also, If you are trying to find a location in the Source based on a location in the Preview simply Cmd-Click in the Preview window at the location and it will show up in the Source window. It works the other way too---well, not quite as well since it gets you to the correct paragraph rather than the right words.
