I think when I upgraded to Yosemite, it asked me during setup if I wanted to share technical information with Apple, and I said no. On the Spotlight panel in system preferences, turn off (uncheck) Spotlight Suggestions and Bing Web Searches. On the Search panel for Safari preferences, Select DuckDuckGo and turn off (uncheck) all the checkboxes. Google and other trackers on the web probably suck far more information about you from your browsing than Apple ever gets. Consider using Adblock and Ghostery to help block trackers, and use cookies only when you absolutely have to.
