[OS X TeX] Using STIX for a single font

So, Michael’s solution works as advertised. Thank you very much, Michael! 

There is however an unfortunate side effect. I have used \mathscr for other symbols (H and L), and I would like not to have STIX for those, preferring the appearance of the Computer Modern \mathscr{H} and \mathscr{L}. 

Is there any way to limit STIX to a single character (which is what the subject line should have said some posts ago!), or is this just a dumb idea? I can use \wp for the script p, even if it looks a little dorky…
