Process analysing of TexShop:

Sampling process 7026 for 3 seconds with 1 millisecond of run time between samples
Sampling completed, processing symbols...
Analysis of sampling TeXShop (pid 7026) every 1 millisecond
Process: TeXShop [7026]
Path: /Applications/TeX/TeXShop.app/Contents/MacOS/TeXShop
Load Address: 0x104bbe000
Identifier: TeXShop
Version: 3.54 (3.54)
Code Type: X86-64 (Native)
Parent Process: launchd [239]
[...]
Call graph:
[...]
    2638 Thread_189359: OGL Profiler
      2638 thread_start (in libsystem_c.dylib) + 13 [0x7fff905c6b75]
        2638 _pthread_start (in libsystem_c.dylib) + 335 [0x7fff905c38bf]
          2638 glcDebugListener (in OpenGL) + 461 [0x7fff8641c321]
            2638 mach_msg (in libsystem_kernel.dylib) + 73 [0x7fff8c38fd71]
              2638 mach_msg_trap (in libsystem_kernel.dylib) + 10 [0x7fff8c39067a]
[...]

Search of OpenGL in the output of analysis above.

When running the same analysis on texmaker there is no thread like that one.
And this seems to make the difference.
