A folder being non-writable just means that its subfolder's names
are fixed, along with any other files that may be in that folder. 
It does not mean that those sub-folders' contents are fixed.

If you add or modify anything in a subfolder, the modification
date of its parent folder is not affected in any way.


At least, that is how I understand this.
