I had the good fortune to attend my first TUG conference and meet Herb Schultz (who graciously took some time to help me with a few queries) and many other wonderful people…several whose books I use often and whose names I regularly see online (in my frantic and not-so-frantic searches for solutions to my problem of the day). ;o)
What a very welcoming group of people…even to a newbie like me!
That is a beautiful sketch! I, too, am interested in who has so much talent!
PS., George, I have just this past week, while at TUG 2016, discovered your book Practical LaTeX. Wow….it's pretty much the LaTeX course I've been looking for (and not finding) for so long! Thank you very much.

Herb Schultz visited Toronto. I expected him to show up in a cowboy hat with a Texan drawl.
Actually, he is from Brooklyn.

It was nice to meet him in person, finally.
