[OS X TeX] How tell MacTeX 2016 about fonts in user tree?

It does not use --syncwithtrees, but any errors and warnings are only shown in the log.

That could very well be that TLU runs `updmap --syncwithtrees` (see the error message) which will ignore the missing map.
