[OS X TeX] How do i restore the 2017 distribution?

Howdy,

What file do you believe is messed up? How are you typesetting the document? Have you updated to the latest versions files in TeX Live 2018 using TeX Live Utility?

Hopefully you still have TeX Live 2017 installed so changing the active distribution using the method given by Adam Maxwell will get you out of trouble.
