[OS X TeX] help me read this

To switch back to the older TeX, use TeX Live Utility. In the Configure menu, select

Change Default TeX Live Version

You will see a list of versions of TeX on your machine, with the active one indicated in the list.
Switch to a different version. It can take a second or two for the switch to register. Done.
