Howdy,

Announcing: MacTeX-2021 has been released.

MacTeX-2021 is meant for macOS 10.14, 10.15 and 11 (Mojave, Catalina and Big Sur) and the binaries are FULLY Universal, i.e., they have both x86_64 Intel as well as arm64 (Apple Silicon) code so have full parity between Intel and Arm systems. The binaries are now stored in a 2021/bin/universal-darwin directory rather than the previous YEAR/bin/x86_64-darwin folder; this is only for your information since the usual TeX Dist structure information takes care of setting up the system automatically.

The MacTeX-2021 install package also installs Ghostscript 9.53.3 and four GUI applications (TeXShop, LaTeXiT, BibDesk and TeX Live Utility). All contain Universal binaries.

BUT: it may/will take up to several days for the distribution to reach all of the CTAN repositories so we request that you wait several days before attempting a download or you may still get the MacTeX-2020 install package.

Go to <https://www.tug.org/mactex/> for more detailed information.

Good Luck,
