[OS X TeX] strange biblatex error - should I run mktexlsr?

Didn't running `kpsewhich biblatex.sty` in Terminal return the correct biblatex.sty? If so the PATH varlable should be ok. What do you get when you execute `echo $PATH` in Terminal?
