Hi Georges,
I am no specialist, but I would advise to reinstall MacTeX 2019 and update
it as follows (especially if you have a fast internet connection).
(Please bear with me if these instructions are too basic for you.)
1) Download mactex-20190508.pkg from
http://ftp.math.utah.edu/pub/tex/historic/systems/mactex/2019/
(or another mirror from http://www.tug.org/mactex/faq/3-4.html).
2) Install it as usual.
3) If your version of TeX Live Utility is older than 1.49, download the
last version of from
https://amaxwell.github.io/tlutility/
(direct link for current version 1.49:
https://github.com/amaxwell/tlutility/releases/download/1.49/TeX.Live.Utility.app-1.49.zip
),
unzip it and replace your old version with this one.
4) Open Tex Live Utility, then
Configure > Change Default TeX Live Version… > TeX-Live 2019
Configure > Manage Repositories > +
ftp://tug.org/historic/systems/texlive/2019/tlnet-final
Use As Home
etc.
