It is working fine here, probably because I am using gs 9.50.

Did you try running this with XeLaTeX? 
I use XeLaTeX always, and it handles pstricks content fine. 
I haven't used old latex-dvips-ps2pdf (or pdflatex, for that matter) in years, except for testing, like just now. 

It is high time we all use modern TeX engines that support Unicode properly without extra help.
