[OS X TeX] CocoAspell still not working for me

Themis,
I agree with you that the TeX/LaTeX community needs a good dedicated spell checker like Excalibur and CocoAspell used to be. Nowadays, while working with LaTeX with TeXShop I use Apple’s spell checker for plain words and just ignore it with LaTeX commands, which are color-coded and easy to see.
Using Text Expander (but any typing shortcut tool will do) have compiled a rather long list of LaTeX command shortcuts that not only saves me typing time (I’m a slooow typist) but also ensures commands are spelled correctly. So I make very few command-typing mistakes. The downside of this approach is that one has to remember the shortcuts, but that’s not a problem for me. The Text Expander list is document-specific (I use it for just-plain English words too) and that specificity facilitates remembering shortcuts.
Gary’s Sublime Text endorsement seems worth checking out by editor-agnostic LaTeX users. But I love TeXShop and don’t plan to change.
