[OS X TeX] how install Symbols widget?

I wonder if this is possible with the latest macos? The Symbols package you
mention appears to be of a type created for earlier versions of the Mac OS
and I believe Apple has changed the mechanism by which widgets are created.
My guess is that the source code for Symbols would need to be modified or,
more likely, completely rewritten to conform to the current standards.
