[OS X TeX] Texshop making phone calls on my Mac!!!!

I don't think this is Apple AI. I seem to recall this type of thing in the
past --- it apparently is a case of Apple's Preview app just trying to be
smarter than it has a right to be! To confirm this, I tried it on my
pre-Apple Intelligence MacBook (with Intel processor). A simple one-page
PDF file produced from LaTeX with something that looks like a phone number
has the described behavior. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to
turn this off.
