[OS X TeX] Strangeness re IsoLatin9 and UTF-8 encodings

Have you tried to copy the file again and opening the new file? The message comes up if, when reading in the file the finds a byte combination that is illegal in UTF-8 Unicode encoding; UTF-8 Unicode is the default encoding for TeXShop out of the box but can be changed in TeXShop->Settings but we recommend NOT changing that. Do NOT edit that file! Please read the Help->File Encoding and TeXShop document in TeXShop for our recommendations and explanation of encoding.
