Herb,
Thank you very much for your reply!
TeXStage seems to be a great application and I was very excited to try it.
I thought "this is it".
I was even starting to write this message lauding it, but I have found what is, for now, a showstopper problem. I hope it gets resolved, but until then I, sadly cannot use it.
I use a very common clicker to advance the slides. Besides a laser beam, it has two buttons to move forward and backward. This has always worked with every program I have tried it on, for years - Preview, Keynote, Présentation, Skim, even PowerPoint. As far as I can tell, it is treated by the Mac as a keyboard and the buttons emulate the page down and page up keys. Sadly, these do not work for navigating the presentation in TeXStage, so the clicker is useless with it. And since I teach in a large hall, I won't be tied to my laptop - it kills the flow of the class. Pity. The application is great. I am trying to contact the developers to see if this can be fixed. The clicker is not reprogrammable AFAICT (it is a Logitech R400 wireless presenter, a very common model).
By the way, Présentation was updated last year, and still runs perfectly on a different Mac, running Tahoe, so it's not just a matter of being incompatible with Tahoe. The author has at times posted here, so maybe he will have somethingh to say.
Thank you again
LS
