[OS X TeX] How force TL Utility to recognize user-installed package without updating from CTAN

I want to try out v0.7 of package lua-unicode-math, but the version currently available in TL Utility is v0.6.
If I put v0.7 of the lua-unicode-math directory into in my local ~/Library/texmf/tex/latex tree after running "lualatex lua-unicode-math.ins" there, how do I get that version to supercede the older version at /usr/local/texlive/2025/texmf-dist/tex/lualatex/lua-unicode-math ?
My understanding is that this will happen automatically the next time TL Utility updates packages, but there are currently no such updates available.
(I want to be careful not to run any command that will mess up my configuration, and there are a bunch of very old pieces of advice on installing packages that, as I recall, will indeed mess things up, e.g., with respect to finding local fonts in ~/Library/texmf .)
