[OS X TeX] TeXShop on macOS 27 (Golden Gate)

[Richard Koch]

Murray,

No reason. That string was just never changed. Ignore it.
The web page gives you TeXShop-5.58-GG.

Is there some reason that TeXShop-5.58-GG.app still declares itself as version 5.57?

Howdy,

In early testing of TeXShop 5.57 on macOS 27 (Golden Gate) betas a few display problems, etc., were discovered. At the time the testing was still on beta OS software so it wasn't clear if those problems would persist under the released version of Golden Gate but there is a beta version of TeXShop 5.58 that fixes most of those problems (but still needs a few more changes before a final release). For those with arm based Macs (macOS 27 only runs on arm based Mac systems) there is a beta version of TeXShop 5.53 available for testing at <https://pages.uoregon.edu/koch/TeXShopSource.html>. The first technical information on that page is about some of the problems encountered with the Golden Gate betas with some solutions. The TeXShop 5.58 beta is available at the bottom of the page as TeXShop-5.58-GG.zip.

PS: There are a couple of references to macOS 27.3 earlier on that page which really are for macOS 27 beta 3. (These may be gone be the time you see the page.)

Good Luck,
