texdoc works OK for me, on a Mac with Sierra.

<div class="">it is texdoc working underneath that does the work to find the PDF file(s) for</div>
<div class="">the package you are interested in. So this is a vital piece of infrastructure</div>

 Does anybody have an idea of how to fix the problem, because losing the texdoc command would be very inconvenient.</span></div>
