[OS X Emacs] Spotlight and LaTex files

Hi,

I use Aquamacs to edit LaTeX files. Unfornuately Spotlight does not  
find LaTeX files (*.tex) after I had saved them in Aquamacs. Instead  
Spotlight only finds the backup files (*.tex˜). So it seems as if  
Aquamacs destroys the Spotlight index. Is this a general problem with  
Aquamacs? Or is my emacs configuration wrong?

I use Mac OS X 10.5.3 and Aquamacs 1.3rc1.
