[OS X Emacs] column editing

...tried to find the commands that allow one to copy and paste,
for example, a multi-column ascii file, as one could do with awk.

Is it still possible to do this in aquamacs?

Could someone tell me the commands to swipe/yank/replace columns or
portions thereof, or suggest what pages to look at for these commands?
