[OS X Emacs] scratch and scratch <2>

How do you start Aquamacs?
Please try the Help -> Diagnose menu, which offers to start Aquamacs  
without any customizations.
Do you still get two frames?

Does this

(setq aquamacs-scratch-file nil)

in your Preferences.el

change anything?
