That's a misunderstanding; I didn't mean to say that you should set  
track-eol to t.  That wouldn't help.

We would need a proper bug report with reproducible steps (starting  
from Help -> Diagnose -> start w/o customizations), sent to the  
aquamacs-bugs mailing list, and I'll see what I can do!
