[OS X Emacs] (does anyone here have knowledge of the) interaction between clipboard and kill-ring?

Thank you, Mark! Did that, with a super simple test file. Exactly the
same results.
Not sure where to go from here. Something is very off. Any other
troubleshooting suggestions, anyone?
