[OS X Emacs] empty service menu in emacs 24

GNU Emacs 24.0.50, obtained and updated via bzr and configured --with- 
ns, shows on Mac OS X 10.5.8 PPC a non-empty Services menu. (And (ns- 
list-services) returns kB of data.)
